How has Brexit affected the study trips?
There are no significant implications for study trip participants. The main changes are:
- You will need a passport to enter the United Kingdom (ID cards are no longer accepted)
- As the UK is no longer an EU Member State, it is a third country for customs purposes. This means that restrictions will apply to what you can take to the UK and bring back into Germany on your return.
The European Health Insurance Card (von deutschen Krankenkassen ausgestellte Europäische Krankenversicherungskarten (EHICs)) is still valid in the United Kingdom for urgent medical care. Nevertheless we recommend that all participants take out private travel medical insurance.
